Atlas 2007-2011

Thank you for your efforts in the Atlas 2007-11 in Brecknock. We are getting there-whereever there is. Certainly we will far exceed the minimum requirement of 8 TTVs in each 10km square. We are also well on the way to a surprisingly comprehensive county atlas. And this is all down to your efforts. Thank you!

However.... Attached is a excel spreadsheet with the 10km squares along the top and 60 of the county's most widespread breeding species down the side. Green means that breeding has been proved for that species in that square, yellow means that the highest level of breeding status observed is possible or probable and white means that there is no level of breeding recorded for that species in that square.

So:

  1. The aim is to turn as much of the white and yellow into green. Can you help in your 10km square? Or any other?
  2. And even if there is a green dot for that species in your 10km square, remember the county atlas needs breeding records at tetrad level.
  3. John Lloyd has offered a bottle of wine for the first person to get a confirmed breeding record for Grasshopper Warbler in the county!
  4. If you want the codes for breeding behaviour, go to the "Taking Part" of the atlas webpage and then click on "Breeding Evidence". Or email me and I can send a card.

Thank you in anticipation and lets hope for some good weather this spring!
