Entry added by: Andrew King on Fri 16th June 17, 09:05am Sighting location: Elenydd via Cwm Gwesyn & Drygarn Fawr. Sighting date: 15/06/17
Low numbers of all species, not helped by the wind. In Cwm Gwesyn, several Whinchat, female Stonechat carrying food and a Wheatear. The open tops held only Skylark and Pipits, but the edges of one small pool had several Teal feathers so likely to be a tiny breeding population still. Off the hill, on the walks in/out, agitated Pied Flycatchers, Redstart (few of these this year), Sparrowhawk, Goshawk, Sand & House Martins. Nice to see Round-leaved Sundews, Butterworts (many), Beautiful Demoiselle and Large Red Damselfly.

Entry added by: Suzanne on Wed 7th June 17, 04:54pm Sighting location: Langattock. Sighting date: 07/06/17
Stunning male Bullfinch skipping around hedgerow enjoying mid-morning sunshine observed through kitchen window. Meanwhile two swallows' nests around the house continue to provide interest, mess and entertainment. That two of last year's returning (?) birds appear to have given up the idea of nesting in the utility room is something of a relief! P.S. it must have been the hanging wet washing that deterred them .
