Good visit to Priory Groves this afternoon with the highlight being a minimum count of 129 Brambling feeding along the top path opposite Priory Mill Farm. I guessed there were about 50-80 feeding in the leaf litter but a passerby put them up which allowed them to be counted in the tree tops. Two small groups of Chaffinch were seen totaling 35. Even more surprising was a Kestrel that was perched on a pole by the mill and hunting the grassy road side slope. At least 220 Wood Pigeon were feeding on the woodland floor that seemed unusual here. 5 Dipper were having a very vocal and active dispute on the river. Also a Marsh Tit and Sparrowhawk.
