One lonely Swallow flew over our garden on Easter Day.

Grasshopper warbler reeling at two sites in and around Pant Mawr forestry. Coverage of several large cleared areas gave just 5 Tree Pipit and 5 Redstart territories. Avoiding waterfall tourist crush on the way back a Curlew call was heard from Coelbren village suggesting a territory at Gors Llwyn is still occupied.

First Redstart of the year this afternoon & first (distant ) Cuckoo calling this evening .

Curlew heard calling whilst i was in the garden, not sure this counts as a gardenn tick lol

5 BH Gull, 4 coot, 2 Pied wagtails, curlew calling in close vicinity one in flight.

Cuckoo singing and probably passing through the Wildlife Trust Reserve while a Pied Flycatcher sang for 2 hours giving me hope of breeding. Nuthatch, blackbird, great and blue tit all nesting while chiffchaff and blackcap building nests.

Osprey - injured bird picked up on Cantref this morning. The bird has been delivered to a recovery centre in Gloucs, so hopefully all will turn out ok. A colour-ringed bird - when details of origin are received, will post info.

First Orange tip and Common Blue of the spring in our garden this morning along with a very confiding male Blackcap.
