Sighting location: Lower Chapel. Sighting date: 30/11/19
Following up a Lower Chapel resident telling me last week of Tree Sparrows coming daily to his feeders at the moment, I went over the weekend to check it out. 7+ were present queueing for the feeders. I should have twigged that this area could host a discreet colony (in the last decade reports from two other locations are equi-distant 3 kms away) as well as game-cover crops that held them there in the '90s. Thanks Ian for letting me know.

Sighting location: Llangorse Lake. Sighting date: 01/12/19
11 Pintail were to the west of the hide that had earlier been found by Chris who reported that the female Scaup was still there but no sign of the Ferruginous Duck. A Green Sandpiper was in the flooded sailing club meadows. 4 Great and 2 Little Egret around the lake. 3 Stonechat were in the meadows to the west of the hide. A dead swan was near one of the shooting hides but the water was too deep for my wellies to check for a ring.

Sighting location: Llangorse Lake. Sighting date: 23/11/19
The Ferruginous Duck was again to the west of the hide today. Photo's taken of it's left leg last weekend and today appear to show that there is no ring on the left leg and combined with the photo previously published of the right leg show that this bird is unringed. It is very likely that this is a different bird to the drake recorded in Powys last winter. Heavily cropped record shots are in the gallery for your scrutiny...
