At south end late this afternoon: 2 Goldeneye, 1 Goosander, 1 Pochard, 1 Teal, 5 Wigeon, 41 Tufted Duck, 1 Grey Heron, 9 Little Grebe, 3 Mallard, 31 Canada Geese.

27 species around the reservoir today. Best were at least 2 Willow Tits calling, 9+ Redwing, 8+ Blackbird, 5 Reed Bunting, Woodpigeon (juv?) off a dropping soiled nest, flock of c 150 Jackdaw with c10 Rook above Cnewr house. On the reservoir itself a Cormorant and 3 pairs of Mallard were the only wildfowl

Still quiet on the waterfowl front <1000 birds counted. Single L Grebe, Kingfisher, Greylag, W Rail, Shelduck and the male Mandarin looking particularly fine at Lakeside, sails ahoy. Also Wigeon 9, Gadwall 18, Shoveler 2, Tufted Duck 127, Coot 349, and 285 LBBGull unusual for mid-morning.

Webs count gave 70 Snipe. Also a Kestrel, Stonechat, 2 Skylark, 14 Mipit and 84 Golden Plover outside of the count area.

WeBs count today: Best for the site 2 Great White Egret, 3 Oystercatcher., 20 Mute Swan & 16 Grey Heron. Also 15 Canadas, 2 Buzzard, 4 Cormorant, 1 Goosander, 4 Little Egret, 103 Mallard & 2 Red Kite.

A single first year swallow flying south and 2 siskin over wood.

25-30 lapwings flying north over Pontwillim Farm on Saturday Morning at 9am on a day of good bird movement and no wind.

First Redwings of the season for me in the form of 12 at Cwm Claisfer. Also a Ringtail Hen Harrier on Mynydd Llangatwg as I type.
