A walk up the valley from Cwmdu yesterday in cold blustery conditions to look for Rookeries in SO12W, X and Y. Three Rookeries located within those tetrads - SO12W (Cwmdu) (10 nests); SO12Y (Pont Waun-fach), 54 nests at Cwm-ffrwd and 47 nests at Dolfawr. Other birds noted included 5 Swallows near Cwmrhos (SO12Y), a small group of 7 Meadow Pipits in fields above Cwm-ffrwd (SO12Y) and a larger flock of about 80 Meadow Pipits low down in the valley east of Mynydd Troed at SO184283 (SO12Z). The latter obviously very sensibly delaying their return to higher ground!
