Great Grey Shrike still in trees alongside island track. Bird using the Hawthorn tree (directly opposite the rough forestry track that goes off left of the island track ) as a larder. Found a field vole impaled halfway up tree which was later removed by the shrike. Also watched the shrike take and eat a small lizard(Commom i presume ). I have various photos of the shrike amongst other local birds which I would upload had I got a password. Been trying for a week by email - no luck !

Single Tree Sparrow with House Sparrows on garden bird-feeder of house adjacent to Brynich bridge (Llanfrynach). Also 7 Tree Sparrow on feeders in my garden in Pennorth this morning. On the bare ex-swede field opposite the Old Ford pub - 220+ Skylark, 1 Meadow Pipit and 110 Pied Wagtail. Biggest feeding Skylark flock for many, many years simply illustrates how they must congregate on what very few bare/stubble fields are available this year.
