4 Oystercatchers, on Brecknock side of dam wall at Usk reservoir, Flew off to south side of water. 10z gmt

The Roller was on the north Carms bank of the reservoir at 10am this morning. Park at the watertower on the north shore and walk westwards for 0.75 mile taking the lower of the two forestry roads. Just before an area of windblown spruces there is a group of 10 or so poplars between the track and the reservoir. The Roller was in one of these.

5 Spotted Flycatchers. Female Mandarin is back at the Canal Basin, Brecon.

E. Roller . Bird was on the road in the sun at 12z GMT . Bird flew off towards the forest on the left

1 willow tit and 1 spotted flycatcher also family party of redstarts and 8 common crossbill.

Whinchat 10 (8 juv),Stonechat 12 (8juv), Green Woodpecker 3 (2 juv), Willow Warbler - 11 juvs, Redstart 11 (9 juv), Redpoll 2, Linnet 6, Goldfinch 6, Reed Bunting 2 (1 juv), Wheatear 4 (3juv).

Adult European Roller reported at 07.45am today on both Carms & Brecs side of the border. Viewed from carpark by grid on forest edge - unfortunately all efforts to locate have so far failed. Description to be forwarded to British Birds Rarities Panel for consideration. If approved, a County first!!

Rather quiet - disappointing range of woodland birds, highlights being Siskin, 2 Redstart and 3prs/fams each of Marsh Tit and Bullfinch. 7 spp Leps though, best being Dk Green Fritillary (3) and Holly Blue (1).
