First small flock (300 ish) of Starlings since late spring...and obviously tired from a long migration.

Seen on the Brecs side 1 Greenshank, 5 Common Sandpiper, 5 Grey Heron, 2 Goosander, 1 YL & 6 LBB Gull and a Kingfisher. A group of 19 Yellow Wagtail were feeding on the Radnor side among the cattle and sheep that when disturbed would cross the river for refuge before returning to feed.

With reference to my report of a falcon trailing jesses seen near Beulah on 16th August. A Saker Falcon went missing from the Heart of Wales Country Fair at Builth Wells showground on the 14th August and is still missing. Should anyone see the bird it belongs to Raptor Experience Wales at Machynlleth.

Roman Road - 1 Swift flew south with light Swallow movement, 2 Wheatear, 2+2 Lapwing, 120 Linnet, Peregrine, 3 Kites. Usk Reservoir - 6 Cormorant, 11 Tufties, 12 SMartin, 1 LGrebe, 13 Mallard, 7 redhead Goosander mostly in South Bay. Glasfynydd Forest - Sprawk, Kestrel, fam Stonechats, m Blackcap, 3 Willow Tits, 2 Crossbill.

Over the past couple of weeks a corvid roost has been building on Fynnonau Farm opposite penlan playing fields. It departs early in the morning but today held around 4-500 Jackdaw and a good number of Rook. Only 4 LBB on the playing fields.

Whinchat - juvenile on the fence in the field adjacent the church. Seen from an upstairs window, this was a long (9yrs) awaited addition to the house list! Also 75 House Martin through south in appalling weather.

31 Common Tern, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Pochard, 1 Teal, 80 Coot and 6 Cormorant.
