Final two TTVs of the summer completed around Mynydd Ddu. 33 species in one (2 hrs) and only 5 in the other (1 hr in moorland). Best were what appeared to be a family of Tree Creeper, families of Redstart, Whinchat, Willow Warbler, Siskin, Buzzard, Dunnock, G Tit, Swallow, C Crow, Magpie & GSWoodpecker. Sp Hawk carrying food, and a Goshawk came belting out of a conifer block to thump a poor innocent juvenile Buzzard that was struggling with the art of flight! A good time at the moment to confirm breeding for raptors, esp the begging calls of young in or around the nest.

Our swifts are gathering over the village each morning - 60 screaming around this morning. This usually happens shortly before they disappear south. A willow warbler sang this morning - the first time in a while. A couple of willow warblers in the garden this week is typical for the time of year - birds passing through. Also 7 lesser black backed gulls passed south down the valley.
