At 1 pm for about thirty minutes great views of a pair of Hobby hawking the large field across the River Usk from Brecon Sewage Works. At least 20 Sand Martin nest holes occupied/being investigated between the sewage works and the 'new' bridge. It seems there are more Swifts this year but where are the House Martins?

Entry added by: Andrew King on Sun 16th May 10, 11:10pm Sighting location: Llangasty & Llaneglwys. Sighting date: 16/05/10
At Llangasty tonight at 6pm - 7 Dunlin, 2 Oycs, 1 LRPlover, 3 Lapwing and 32 pesky Canada Goose goslings already. Earlier in the weekend two TTV in the Llaneglwys Forest area revealed 8 Wheatear, slightly better counts of Skylark & Mipit on the common to the west, prs Siskin and Linnets, 3 singing Chiffchaff and Redstarts, and a male Stonechat. Best though was a distant Goshawk, and the briefest of glimpses of a deer in the woods - a probable Roe Doe but a pity I was unable to clinch it as my first in 22 years in Breconshire.
