6 Gadwall (3m + 3f), 18 Wigeon (mixed with group of 100+ Canada Geese), 29 Teal, 3 Lapwing, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 27 Cormorant and 4 Grey Heron

172 Mallard and male Mandarin still present. 4 Goosander on Brecon Prom yesterday.

Kingfisher, 6 Buzzards circling, female Sparrowhawk. Also 62 BH Gull, 22 Mallard and a pair of Mute Swan

Single Redwing feeding on elder berries 8Oct. Most likely that a small party of Thrushes in conflict with Blackbirds in adjacent conifer on 5Oct were this species, but no clear identification was then possible.

c.7 Fieldfare flying North by NE corner of the base of ALLT DDU.

c50 Fieldfare feeding in fields near house Sat. morning 0730hrs, poss. Redwings in group, but low mist and difficult to spot. No sign on the Sunday morning. Rowan crop virtually nil in this area, and Hawthorn very sparse.

Pintail [1 eclipse male], Goldeneye [1 juv -1st of the winter?], Pochard [11], Wigeon [17]and Little Grebe [25] highlights today.

Forestry - min 12/max 16 Crossbill, fem Goshawk, Jays, LTT, Bullfinches, 20+ Siskin. 14 Raven and a Red Kite on lamb carcase. BWT Cae Eglwys - males Stonechat & SpHawk. Gorse scrub - 3 Redwing, 1 Snipe, 3 Stonechat, 1 Chiffchaff (h). Sarnau Woodland Trust reserve - 2 juv Yaffle & a juv Buzzard, late broods. Leps - 3 Sp Wood & 1 Red Admiral.

Flying visit highlights - 16 Wigeon, 2 Pochard and 20 Little Grebe. Also 35 Tufted, 5 Teal, 7 Mallard, 2 Mute Swan, 7 Canada Geese and a Grey Heron
