It is also important to supply this information to the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) who can be contacted through this link. Mute Swan Canal, Brecon 16.09.08 Keith Noble BTO ring X2769 Previously seen at Boat House on 22.1.08 (see below), Clyro 21.1.04, ringed Northwich 18.10.98. In company with an unringed bird.
Mute Swan Llangorse Lake 06.05.08 - 08.05.08 Mark Waldron Blue ring 7EHB Swan has been confirmed as being ringed on 30th October 2006 at Llandrindod Wells Lake as an adult male. It was also present there on 5th November 2006 but no other records held.
Mute Swan Glasbury 14.9.08 Mark Waldron Black writing on orange colour ring on left leg. Unfortnately too distant to read.
Black-headed Gull Island Fields Brecon & Llanfaes Bridge 12.08.08 Mark Waldron Black on white ring '2P64' not 'ZP64' as previously posted. Bird has been confirmed as being ringed at Cotswold Water Park as a juv on the Gloucestersire Wiltshire border on 20.06.08 some 106 km, WNW, 53 days of Brecon.
Racing Pigeon Brecon Canal Basin 31.7.08 - 21.8.08 Mark Waldron Left leg pink ring ‘8’ and right leg yellow ring ‘IHU 07 S73256'.  
Redstart Llangasty Church 22/08/2008 Andrew King Single yellow colour-ring on rt leg. Possibly a metal BTO ring on left leg. Bird sunning itself in the hedge, preening, allowed close approach. Local color-ringing study by Llangorse Ringing Group.
Black headed Gull (juv) Llanfaes Bridge 12.8.08 Mark Waldron Left leg - White ring 'ZP64' in black writting. Right leg - metal ring. No doubt one and the same as Keith's bird on 4.8.08 on the nearby showfields.
Mute Swan Crannog, Llangorse Lake 8.8.08 Mark Waldron metal ring Z91187 Cobb that has raised 6 cygnet by the Crannog this year.
Black-headed Gull (juv) Brecon Show Field 04.08.08 Keith Noble Large white ring on left leg, standard metal on right. Could not read characters but emailed photo to Cotswold Water Park who replied that it looked like one of theirs

Red Kite SN9227 05.07.08 Andy Davis Green Tag '07' on right wing, green tag also on left wing but indistinguishable. Can anyone id from this ( photo in gallery)
Grey Heron Usk, Brecon Prom. 24.6.2008 Mark Waldron Yellow wing tag 'BC' 'BC' has been confirmed as a breeding bird in the Purton colony a couple of weeks back where most birds were sucessful breeders. All sightings of this bird have been requested by the ringer Richard Hearn - email rich_hearn (at) yahoo.co.uk
Grey Heron Usk, Brecon Prom. 24.06.08 Mark Waldron Yellow wing tag 'BC' Tagging history of this bird has previously been added. If this seasons breeding info is avaliable I will post when BTO reply.
Robin Pennorth 04.04.08 Andrew King Ring no: V162957 Found dead under a bungalow window. Ringed as an adult in another Pennorth garden just 40 metres away, on 24th November 2007. Still within its home range.

Mute Swan Brecon Prom Boat House 22.1.08 Mark Waldron X2769 The metal ring 'X2769' is a female that was ringed as a nestling on 18.10.98 at Acton Bridge, Northwich, Cheshire a distance of 160km away. Only other sighting was at Clyro on 21.1.04.
