It was ringed (BTO FJ06156) at the Gann Estuary, Dale, Pembrokeshire on 20 Jan 2018 as an adult male. Curlew Llangorse Lake 26/02/20 Mark Waldron Red on left leg, Black on right leg with white inscription. Probablt Black 18 that was here last spring?
Red Kite Defynnog 26/01/2020 Mark Waldron Black tag with white underscore “36”. Ring Number: GR19789 This bird was ringed as age nestling, sex unknown on 11-Jun-2011 at a confidential site near Sennybridge. 3151 days after it was ringed, 0 km from the ringing site, this was the first report of this tagged bird!!!
Starling Libanus 18/01/20 Mark Waldron Metal ring ARNHAM.VT HOLLAND L471240. Also present on 12, 19, 23, 25, 26 & 29/01 and 1/2/20. This bird was ring on 06/07/17 at Parnassiaweg, Bloemendaal, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, as a bird that had hatched that year. This was the first recovery since it was ringed.

Tufted Duck Llangorse Lake 16.11.19 Mark Waldron Light blue nasal saddle "FCP". Still present.
Tufted Duck Llangorse Lake 10.11.19 Mark Waldron Light blue nasal saddle "FCP". This duck was ringed at Saint Philbert de Grand Lieu near Nantes in western France on 18/12/18 at age 1A (Ringed in the year it hatched). It was also recorded there on 09/01/19. This is the second autumn in a row a Tufted Duck from this scheme has been recorded at Llangorse Lake.

Mute Swan Llangorse Lake, Llangasty 11/09/19 Mark Waldron Blue 7ILF Ringed as a male cygnet at Llandrindod Lake on 14th September 2016.
Osprey Cantref Reservoir 19.04.19 Andrew King White lettering HV5 on blue ring. This migrant was found injured and taken into care by Llwyn-Onn Rangers (Dwr Cymru). After veterinary care it was released back there on 25th April, and flew off strongly. It was ringed as a chick (one of two) in a nest on the Black Isle, Inverness on 2/7/14. This is the first report since - now suspected to be breeding at an unknown site somewhere in Scotland.
Mute Swan Llangorse Lake, sailing club meadow 01.05.19 Mark Waldron Blue 7JLC, BTO "XY3131". Found dead.
Curlew Llangorse Lake, sailing club meadow 13.03.19 Mark Waldron Black ring with white "18" on right above knee, red on left above knee, metal ring below knee on right leg. Still present. Interestingly the ringing team have commented that as an adult male, it should be back on the breeding grounds by now if it is a local bird, so it will probably be from Scandinavia.
Curlew Llangorse Lake, Acorn field 09.03.19 Mark Waldron Black ring with white "18" on right above knee, red on left above knee, metal ring below knee on right leg. It was ringed (BTO FJ06156) at the Gann Estuary, Dale, Pembrokeshire on 20 Jan 2018 as an adult male, and has never been recorded since. Many of the curlew ringed at the Gann have turned up again at the site, or within a couple of miles in subsequent winters, often at a similar stage of the winter to when originally ringed.
Mute Swan Brecon Canal Basin 25/01/19 Andrew King Blue 7CTJ Now back on the Canal Basin with its mate - its 12th winter there! Summers and breeds successfully at Llangorse Lake.
Starling Brecs/Carms border Ring found 6.1.19 S Wales Peregrine Monitoring Gp Ring number 4678727 (C ring). Found with metal detector under Peregrine roost/eyrie. Ad. Male ringed at Varberg, Sweden (on coast to south of Gothenburg)on 15th September 2016, and taken as prey by Peregrines on an unknown date since. Ring found on 6th January 2019.
Pied Wagtail NW Breconshire 28.10.18 ring only S Wales Peregrine Monitoring Group Wildbird ring X286794 Found by metal detector under a regular Peregrine breeding ledge. The Wagtail was ringed as a nestling at Cynghordy (Carms) on 28/5/11, and taken by a Peregrine as prey for themselves or for their chicks on a date unknown.
