Sighting location: Llyn y Fan Fach (Carms). Sighting date: 09/08/22
Chough x4 - above Llyn y Fan Fach (Carms) - 12:15 I know this is just over the border into Carms but they were extremely mobile along the edge of the hilltops and could easily be going between Brecknock and Carms. They certainly headed east out of sight at about 12:45 - So I thought it of interest to report here.
I have a record shot photo on my twitter @breconbirding). [Thanks Scott for following-up this report. Success too.]

Sighting location: Beacons & Fans. Sighting date: 08/08/22
Two independent reports of a County First came yesterday from birders familiar with the species. Chough - a single at Fan-y-big (Beacons) and 3 at Bwlch Giedd (Llyn-y-Fan Fawr, Carmarthen Fans). I failed to find the Beacons bird today, but if anyone fancies a nice stroll into the hills at either site to check these out, go for it please. I can only assume drought conditions on the coast have sent inverts deep, so they have come inland to feed on steep, damper ground.
