TTV visit. Best were 5 Teal,6 Goosander, 1 LGrebe, 2 Dipper, 5 Bullfinch and 6 Coal Tit. Song Thrush (20)outnumbered Blackbird (18), but many SThrush in song which boosted their numbers. Inputting the 'best estimate' column for overall winter numbers on the tetrad overcomes any such bias.

Hen Harrier (Ringtail), Linnet and the first returning Skylark on the second TTV visit to SN96Q. Stonechat, 2 Marsh Tit, 50 Redwing, 5 Treecreeper and 8 Song Thrush in SN96K. The Song Thrush included a group of 7 together, returning birds or perhaps on the move.

15 Mallard, 18 Tufted, 2 Pochard, 12 Coot, 3 Goldeneye, 2 Mute Swan, 1 Teal, 4 Little Grebe and a drake Goosander.

Warm but a strongish W wind raising waves. Llangasty: 15 Cormorant, 110 Lapwing, 9 Gadwall, 95 Wigeon, whimbrel-sized wader over car park high and fast with wind in its tail (? the reported Spotted Redshank or Black-tailed Godwit). Hide: 2 G.B-b Gull, 2 Jay, 11 L-t Tit, Goldcrest screaming at me excitedly with red more obvious than than yelllow crest. Minimum 25 Cormorant total.

1000+ Starling, 250 Fieldfare,60 Redwing,feeding in fields near to Tirabad side of MOD Range. Ff,Rw have been here for several days now.

1 Goldcrest, 3 Bullfinch, 1 Marsh Tit, 2 Cole Tit, 7 Long Tailed Tit 1 Song Thrush, c.25 Fieldfare, c.100 Starling and a male Sparrowhawk.

Great Tit singing, 10 Blue Tit, 4 Coal Tit, 4 Goldcrest, 12 Siskin, 5 Robin, 2 Raven, 10 L-t Tit but no shrike at SE Usk Resr SO828283. Tawny Owl calling at dusk.
