Your latest post made me laugh!.... thanks for the tufted info. Its a blindingly big white mark and I now remember talking to Mike H about it. Still, while its with the tufted it is also singular in its mind... it doesn't flow with the flock.

Sighting location: SO22K - tetrad - Llanbedr East. Sighting date: 27/11/09
Retirement is usually a sign of the third age, of (hopefully slow) decline, but it does have a bright side in that one can take advantage of that rare commodity - sunshine. Today was "brilliant" for a tetrad bash up the hillside byways with gossamer floating by and birds singing ! Heard were Starling, Robin and Wren amongst the 26 species recorded in two hours. There was a very noticeable concentration of birds on the edge of Llanbedr just in the tetrad - otherwise the interest was high on the hills with a welsh parliament of 28 Raven; c.40 Jackdaw; c.20 Carrion Crow and with 3 Buzzards showing their displeasure at the disturbance; and a distant Yaffle.

A bit of help to clarify a tufted duck for the WeBs Count last Sunday please - because conditions were appalling then this is the first chance of getting a picture... clarification because of the white band around the beak.
