29 species seen with highlighs including a Kingfisher carrying a fish down stream, a pair of Pied Flycatcher, 3 Blackcap, 1 House Martin, 2 Swallow, 4 Bullfinch, 7 Goldfinch, pair Siskin, 4 Linnet and a pair of Mallard.

12:30 Male Cuckoo observed for 15 minutes, but not calling

Dipper - a newly fledged bird on the Dulas in Llanwrthwl this afternoon was a suprise - seems very early. The bird couldn't fly and swam off under the bank eventually.Attended to by adult. First confirmed breeding at the site - probably because Ive been too late looking in the past!

Common Swift - first of the year first thing this morning over the village. Also Blackcap - first of the year - they are late here this spring.

34 species on 2 hr TTV. Highlights included 2 singing male Redstart & 1 TPipit, 3-4 prs Linnet, 12 Lapwing, 6 Stock Dove, 1pr Siskin in breeding habitat. Raven nest bulging with noisy young about to fledge. My first House Martin of the year, but no Garden Warbler.

Female Cuckoo calling and flying around the same area as the male Cuckoo was on Mynydd Aberyscir,(reported 22/04/09). No sight or sound of the male today. It looks like they might have missed each other by one day.
