...."regarding 9/06: "Single Juvenille Lapwing on grass bank of Usk res. Dam." Hi Andy, the bird on the picture in the gallery is undergoing a regular (postbreeding) moult of flight feathers, hence it can not be a juv. :)""" Thanks Mich, I wasn't aware of that. It was its brown colouration that led me to a juv. ........ Blue tits fledged the nest on wednesday 11th June.

Three Cuckoos still echoing around the valleysides and a Tawny Owl obliged with its presence. But so few tits !! Just managed to get one family party of each of Blue and Great; and just a single Coal. Mistle Thrush numbers equalled all other thrushes and chats added together.

Atlasing up at Llyn Brianne, 3 TTVs and a BBS done. Not all in Brecknock but the Brecknock sightings as follows: Pair of Spotted Flys at Trawsnant with an occupied, inaccesible nest. Pied Wags carrying food there, nest not found. Tree Pipit also carrying food nearby. Star bird of the morning, a singing cock Yellowhammer @ SN818495. At the bridge over the top end of the reservoir, both Mallard and Common Sandpiper with recently hatched young. Also there were 7 Canada Geese. If you Llangorse watchers are missing a few Canadas, they are all up on Llyn Brianne as there were two other similar sized groups on the Ceredigion part of the reservoir. In SN8056, a juvenile Stonechat still with the flying L plates on and young Mipits and a Wheatear not alot more advanced. I did not see an adult Wheatear all morning, just a scattering of juveniles. And only one Whinchat (singing but in Carmarthenshire). Both are very scarce this year.
